Port Neches, Texas — As of 10:00am on Friday, November 29, Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick effectively lifted the evacuation order for areas falling within the 4-mile radius surrounding the TPC Group Port Neches Operations located on FM-366 in Port Neches, Texas, with the exception of designated safety zones in the immediate area of the event. The designated safety zone is defined as;
- No access to Spur 136, north of FM 366
- No access on north end of Magnolia Ave (FM 366) at Park Street.
- No southbound access on FM 366 & Hogaboom is closed
- No access at Grigsby Ave & Spur 136
- Main Street is accessible up to Ave K & Ave L & Park
Returning residents are cautioned to remain aware of plume location. Due to current weather conditions, elevated particulate matter associated with smoke has been detected intermittently around the facility and could be harmful to sensitive groups. Direct exposure could result in respiratory irritation.
Air Monitoring will be continuous as it has been since the incident started and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
Unified Command (UC) reports that the fire has been contained. Emergency responders are working to fully mitigate the incident.
